Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common salivary gland tumor and the most common tumor to arise within the parotid gland. These tumors constitute 60% of all parotid neoplasms and 75% of benign parotid tumors.

1,3 Indeed, the palate has the highest concentration of minor salivary glands in the upper aerodigestive tract. Objective To estimate the utility of ultrasonography in diagnosis and differentiation of pleomorphic adenomas.. Design From the group of 88 patients examined by ultrasound, who were referred because of the tumor in the preauricular area, submandibular area, or cheek, pleomorphic adenoma was finally diagnosed in 24 (with multiple recurrent tumors in 2 patients). Right submandibular gland is normal. Pleomorphic adenoma may show various architectural and cytologic features that resemble other salivary tumors Identifying areas typical of pleomorphic adenoma with triphasic ductal, myoepithelial and stromal components is helpful to establish the diagnosis Squamous cell carcinoma : Epidemiology Warthin tumors are the 2 nd most common benign parotid tumor (after pleomorphic adenoma) and represent up to 10% of all parotid tumors. They are the commonest bilateral or multifocal benign parotid tumor. They typically occur in the elderly (6 th decade), and twice as common in men (2.2:1) 11.

The clinical and radiographic features of two cases of pleomorphic adenoma are discussed. With the use of hypocycloidal tomography, definitive radiographic signs of benignity are demonstrated. They include (1) a radiolucent defect with well-defined cortical margins; (2) beveled margins which describe an intraoral origin of the neoplasm; (3)
Malignant changes in pleomorphic adenoma have been associated with a long duration, tumor recurrence, radiation therapy, an advanced age, and tumor size. The clinical and radiographic features of two cases of pleomorphic adenoma are discussed. With the use of hypocycloidal tomography, definitive radiographic signs of benignity are demonstrated. They include (1) a radiolucent defect with well-defined cortical margins; (2) beveled margins which describe an intraoral origin of the neoplasm; (3) MR features of pleomorphic adenoma of the right parotid gland which was confirmed by an FNAC. 0 public playlist includes this case Related Radiopaedia articles Thirty-three percent of the myxoid pleomorphic adenomas, 23% of the cellular subtype, and 21% of the classic subtype had satellite nodules or pseudopodia. Conclusions: Almost all pleomorphic adenomas have focally thin capsules. One-fourth of all pleomorphic adenomas contain abnormalities such as satellite nodules or pseudopodia.
Pleomorphic adenomas are the most common benign histology of the parotid, mucoepidermoid carcinoma are the most common malignant histology of the parotid, and adenoid cystic carcinomas are the most common malignant histology of the submandibular and minor salivary glands. Pleomorphic adenoma in ultrasound The diagnosis of salivary gland tumors utilize both tissue sampling and radiographic studies. Tissue sampling procedures include fine needle aspiration (FNA) and core needle biopsy (bigger needle comparing to FNA). Both of these procedures can be done in an outpatient setting. The study included 78 patients with 92 histologically proven parotid tumors, including 42 WTs, 30 pleomorphic adenomas (PMAs), and 20 carcinomas. Echo-planar DW images were acquired.

Hepatic adenomas are reported to be solitary in 70%–80% of cases, but it is not unusual to encounter two or three adenomas in one patient, particularly at multiphasic CT or MR imaging (, 13,, 14). Patients with glycogen storage disease or liver adenomatosis may have dozens of adenomas detected at imaging and even more at close examination of resected specimens ( , , , Fig 1 ) ( , 10 , , 11
